Documents Required for Govt Jobs: Verification Checklist
Document verification (DV) is where many candidates lose selection due to missing or mismatched documents. Keep a DV folder ready so you don’t panic at the last minute.
Always-required documents
- Class 10 certificate (name/DOB proof)
- Class 12/Graduation marksheets & certificate
- Photo ID (Aadhaar/PAN/Driving License)
- Recent passport photos
- Application form printout + fee receipt
Category-related documents
- SC/ST/OBC certificate (as per latest format)
- EWS certificate (valid financial year)
- PwD certificate (authorized medical board)
- Ex-serviceman documents (discharge book/service record)
Address & domicile
Some recruitments require domicile/residence proof. Keep domicile certificate or state-issued proof ready.
Experience
If experience is required, keep appointment letter, salary slips, and relieving letter. Do not claim experience without proof.
Best practice
Carry originals + 2–3 self-attested photocopy sets. Keep scanned PDFs stored in cloud.
